Accessible language

As much as possible, we try to use Plain English on this website, with no unnecessary jargon. Where a more technical term is used, we try to explain it for less technical readers.

Text size

We’ve designed our website to make the text easier to read. If you would like to increase the size of the text, you can do so by clicking the ‘AAA’ symbol in the main navigation bar at the top of every page, which will provide you with additional controls.

You can also ‘zoom in’ to magnify the text and images by using the 'View' menu in your browser.

Images

We provide Alternative Text (Alt Text) for screen readers for all images, graphics or icons that provide important information. Alt Text is not used for purely decorative images

Background and text colour

We have designed this website to meet recommended colour contrasts, making the text easier to read. If you would like to increase the colour contrast, you can do so by clicking the ‘AAA’ symbol in the main navigation bar at the top of every page, which will provide you with additional controls.

Links

When we add links in text, we use text that clearly describes the destination of that link.

Forms

There are a number of online forms on this website. Please note that some of these forms may be difficult to navigate using just a keyboard. If you have difficulties completing a form online, please contact us on 0203 195 0151, and we will manage your enquiry over the phone.

Videos

All videos on this website are hosted on YouTube and embedded in our web pages. All videos include optional automated captions.
